In his talk at the 2026 Unbreakable Health Retreat in Miami, Mark Sisson took aim at the biohacking movement, arguing that many popular longevity interventions promise shortcuts while offering little convincing evidence of meaningful benefit. From wearable devices and red light therapy to supplements, peptides, and hyperbaric oxygen chambers, Sisson explained why many of today’s most popular health trends distract from the simple behaviors that have the greatest impact on long-term health.

A bestselling author of The Primal Blueprint and Born to Walk, founder of Primal Kitchen, and a longtime leader in the ancestral health movement, Sisson has spent decades researching nutrition, exercise, and human performance. He also spent years developing and selling nutritional supplements before concluding that most offer little value for people who have already mastered the fundamentals. Rather than chasing products, gadgets, or quick fixes, Sisson argued that the greatest returns come from developing metabolic flexibility through a nutrient-dense diet, regular movement, strength training, quality sleep, and other habits that align with our evolutionary biology.

Sisson concluded that health should be viewed as a long-term investment rather than a series of quick trades. While technology and medical advances have their place, he argued that lasting vitality still comes from discipline, consistency, and a willingness to do the hard things that human biology has always required.
