2 cups chicken broth
½ cup heavy cream

Preparation

In a medium soup pot over medium heat, melt butter (1 Tbsp). Add chopped onion (½ cup) and minced garlic (2 cloves) and sauté until translucent and fragrant, about 2–3 minutes.

Add cauliflower florets (1 cup) and sauté 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften and lightly brown. Pour in chicken broth (2 cups) and stir in dried thyme (½ tsp), oregano (½ tsp), paprika (½ tsp), and season with salt and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.

Season both sides of the chicken breast with salt and pepper, then place it in a hot skillet with a little butter. Cook for 5–7 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 8–10 minutes or until cauliflower is fork-tender. Stir in shredded cooked chicken (1 cup), chopped spinach or kale (½ cup), heavy cream (½ cup), cream cheese (2 oz), and grated Parmesan (2 Tbsp). Cook 2–3 minutes, stirring until cream cheese melts and the soup becomes creamy.

Taste and adjust salt and pepper as needed. If using bacon, fold in crumbled bacon just before serving for extra richness. Ladle into bowls and garnish with extra Parmesan (and crumbled bacon if desired). Serve hot.

In 2009, during a seminar in Murrieta California, Coach Greg Glassman shares a fundamental concern about the fitness industry: there’s too much talk and too little proof. At the center of the problem is a failure to clearly separate narrative, data, and method.

Narrative is simply a story. Saying “I’m the best trainer in the world” is narrative. Without data and method to back it up, a story is just that—a story. Too often, conversations about fitness start and end here, offering nothing more.

Data refers to what’s measurable, observable, and repeatable. For example: “All 35 members of my gym, including 20 women, can do muscle-ups.” That’s data. But even when data exists, not everyone is willing to share it.

Method is the specific approach taken—the “how.” What exactly did you do to get results? For instance, implementing the Zone Diet would be a method.

The most powerful structure is to start with data, explain the method, and end with narrative. Unfortunately, too many discussions work in reverse: they lead with a story and try to stretch or invent data and method to match it. That kind of reasoning has no real weight—don’t fall for it.

I love how all of the Glassman Archive videos are still all relevant over 10 years later. The concept Greg talks about can be applied to really any business.

The most successful ones have data>method that supports the data>clear narrative.
